Before Siri, the virtual assistant, there was SIRI, the Strategic Information Research Institute. SIRI was a a not-for-profit corporation, based at BCIT, the British Columbia Institute of Technology in Burnaby, British Columbia.
The institute was associated with the Science Council of BC.
Using a 8 gigabyte data server and a 5.7 gigabyte data-server linked to nine personal computers, they purported to "build bridges between islands of information"
